Michael Parker
"A Gifted Narrator" — Financial Times
Charlotte de la Cour returns to France in the late Spring of 1940 having been recruited as an SOE agent to be embedded in Paris before the expected occupation by Nazi Germany. Her work as a waitress at the Hotel Metropole brings her face to face with many senior German Officers where her lip-reading and language skills are used to learn as much as she can from their unguarded loose talk. But she gets drawn deeper and closer to the growing resistance movement in France where she learns what living on the edge is really like and what price she will pay if she fails.

I NEVER KNEW I WOULD BE A WRITER.
As a thriller writer, it might be surprising to know that I have also published a religious book. When Pat and I retired to Spain (we were in our fifties), it was to enjoy the sun, sea and sangria; we were not Christians and had no intention of changing. But God had other plans and we both became Born again. Eventually I became a kind of lay preacher and preached in our church, Torrevieja Christian Fellowship, and other places around the Costa Blanca. The book was encouraged by others and is about my conversion. It includes some of the sermons I preached, which I hope readers will find intriguing. There is also a terrific testimony at the end of the book. If you click on the button, it will take you to the Amazon link.
